Privacy
What ipwatch stores
Your account and the people in it (name, email, a hashed password), the marks you watch, your decisions and notes on matches, and your searches. The names and marks you search for are kept in your account's history so you can reopen, repeat and export them. Other accounts cannot see any of this.
Public checks are not stored. The only thing kept from one is the time and IP address of the request, kept for 2 days to limit abuse.
Sign-in and security records
Each signed-in session records the IP address and browser (user-agent) it was started from, so you can see and end your sessions under Password and sessions.
Sign-in, sign-up, password reset and email confirmation attempts record the email address entered and the IP address, to limit repeated guessing. These records are kept for 30 days and then deleted.
Journal data is public
The trade mark journal entries ipwatch searches and shows are public records published by the Indian Trade Marks Registry. ipwatch does not add private information to them.
Logos printed in the journal are read the same way as uploaded logos: the images are sent to Google's Gemini models, through OpenRouter, to read the words in them. These are public journal images.
Logos you upload
When you search with a logo, or upload a logo when you watch a mark, the image is sent to Google's Gemini models, through OpenRouter, only to read the words in it. Requests are routed only to providers that keep no copy of the image (zero data retention), and it is not used to train models. The image is not kept by ipwatch: it is not stored after the words have been read, and only the words that were read are used for the search.
Class suggestions and the AI view on matches
When you ask for class suggestions, the description you type of what you sell is sent, through OpenRouter, to TypeSafe's Jev model. For suggestions, the name or mark is never sent. TypeSafe states that it does not train models on these inputs, but it may keep them for a period it does not state. ipwatch does not store the description for searches or checks; it stores it with a watched mark only when you save one.
For each new watch match, the watched mark, its classes and its description of what you sell (when you gave one), and the mark and classes published in the journal, are sent through OpenRouter to TypeSafe's Jev model for the AI view on the match. No proprietor, address or other account details are sent. The same applies here: TypeSafe states that it does not train models on these inputs, but it may keep them for a period it does not state. The AI view only orders matches; it never hides or removes one.
Analytics
The public pages (the home page and the free check) use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you.
Google Analytics runs on the same public pages only if you allow it in the banner shown there. Until you do, it is not loaded and sets no cookies; if you allow it, Google sets its _ga cookies to tell visits apart. To change your answer, use “Cookie settings” at the foot of those pages. Neither runs on sign-in pages or inside your account.
Email and payments
ipwatch sends email, such as sign-in confirmations, invitations and match alerts, through Resend. Payments are handled by Razorpay; card and bank details go to Razorpay and never reach ipwatch.
